The 2027 Planner Layout Guide: Which Insert is Right for Your Planning Style?

The 2027 Planner Layout Guide: Which Insert is Right for Your Planning Style?

One of the most common questions I get is some version of: "I love the look of your inserts, but I have no idea which one to buy."

And I understand why. When you are not already deep into the planner world, terms like Wo1P and Mo2P mean nothing, and even knowing you want a "weekly" insert does not tell you which weekly insert is right for how you actually plan.

So here is the honest, straightforward guide to every layout in the 2027 Squizzleberry collection, matched to the person most likely to love it.

The 2027 Week at a Glance (Wo2P): Horizontal Layout

Best for: People who want their whole week visible at once, with space for tasks, habits and a bit of life admin, not just appointments.

This is the layout I am most excited about for 2027, and it is genuinely different from anything we have made before.

The horizontal format gives you a week across two facing pages. Inside each week you have:

  • Daily task and appointment space
  • A habits tracker so you can tick off daily non-negotiables
  • An errands section for those running around tasks that do not fit neatly into a day
  • A purchase reminder section, genuinely useful if you are tracking spending or trying to avoid impulse buys
  • A highlight of the week prompt, specifically designed to help you reflect on something positive
  • And a rotating motivational quote at the top of every single weekly spread, so each Monday opens with something that actually means something

If you are the kind of person who wants their planner to feel like a productivity tool and a small act of self-care at the same time, this is your layout.

Size: A5 only.

The 2027 Weekly Planner (Wo1P)

Best for: Minimalists who want one clean page per week, nothing more, nothing less.

The Week on 1 Page format is our most popular weekly insert for a reason. It is the purest expression of what a minimalist planner should do; give you your whole week in one uncluttered view, then get out of your way.

Each page has a simple column layout with space for each of the seven days, a to do list, habit tracker, and nothing else competing for your attention.

If you hate fuss, if you find yourself never using half the sections in a complex layout, or if you carry a smaller Personal or Personal Wide planner, the Wo1P is the right choice.

Available in: A5, Personal, Personal Wide.

The 2027 Month on 2 Pages (Mo2P)

Best for: People who plan ahead and want to see their whole month alongside their monthly goals.

The Mo2P gives you your month at a glance on two pages so you can plan out your events and appointments.

This is the insert that makes the biggest difference to how intentional your month feels. When you can see your goals right at the beginning of your month, it is much harder to let a whole month slide by without working toward them.

Use this alongside a weekly insert for a layered planning system - monthly for the big picture, weekly for the day-to-day.

Available in: A5, Personal, Personal Wide.

The 2027 Month on 1 Page (Mo1P)

Best for: People who want a monthly overview without taking up too much ring space.

If you find the Mo2P more space than you need, the Month on 1 Page is the more compact alternative. You get the full calendar grid on a single page. Clean, minimal, and space-efficient.

This is the right choice if your planner is already quite full, if you use a Pocket or Personal size binder, or if you tend to keep monthly planning simple.

It also works really well as a standalone insert for people who only want an overview and do not use a weekly layout at all.

Available in: A5, Personal, Personal Wide.

The 2027 Daily Planner

Best for: Detail-oriented planners, people with complex daily schedules, or anyone who time-blocks their day.

One full page per day from January through December 2027. This is the most intensive and most rewarding layout we make. Each page includes:

  • A time-blocked schedule for the day
  • A task and to-do section
  • A notes section
  • A hydration & meal tracker

If you are the kind of person who loves knowing exactly where every hour is going, who gets satisfaction from a fully mapped-out day, or who has tried weekly planners and found them too vague, this is the insert for you.

It is also worth noting that the Daily Planner is a genuinely lovely writing experience because it gives you generous white space. This is not a cramped little box per day, this is a proper full page.

Available in: A5.

The 2027 Year at a Glance

Best for: Everyone. This is a starting point, not a standalone insert.

I recommend the Year at a Glance to every single person, regardless of what other inserts they choose. All twelve months on one compact spread, designed for marking key dates, holidays, and annual milestones before the year begins.

Ten minutes with this insert at the start of the year is worth more than any amount of goal-setting journaling. You cannot plan a year you cannot see. It also functions really well as a Yearly Review - so you can review what experiences you've had and can reflect on.

Available in: A5, Personal, Personal Wide.

The 2027 Quarterly

Best for: Goal-focused planners who think in seasons rather than months.

This is the insert that very few people know they need until they try it. The Quarterly breaks 2027 into four quarters, giving you a horizon that is close enough to feel urgent and far enough to plan meaningfully.

Use it to set one or two goals per quarter, note any seasonal priorities, and do a brief review at the end of each period. It adds a layer of intention to your planning system without adding much bulk to your planner.

Available in: A5, Personal, Personal Wide.

The 2027 Vellum Calendar and Dashboard

Best for: Anyone who wants their planner to feel special from the first page.

These two inserts are the visual anchors of a 2027 setup. The vellum calendar is printed on 200gsm translucent paper with a soft cloudy texture — it looks genuinely beautiful and functions as a quick date reference at the front of your planner.

The dashboard features a bold, minimal "27" design on the same vellum stock. It is not functional in the traditional sense — it is an aesthetic statement. An opening page that says this year means something.

Both pair perfectly with any combination of the inserts above.

Available in: A5, Personal and Personal Wide.

So Which Should You Choose?

If you want one recommendation for a complete 2027 system, here is the setup I would build:

Vellum calendar + Year at a Glance + Quarterly + Month on 2 Pages + Week at a Glance (Wo2P) if A5, or Wo1P if Personal size.

That combination gives you the full year in perspective, a quarterly anchor, a monthly intention, and a weekly system that actually works. Everything else is optional extras.
